What’s happening?
A jury indicted two members of the Baltimore Police Department, Officer Maxwell Dundore and Brendan O’Leary, in connection to the assault of a 17-year-old boy in April 2020.
What prompted this?
Dundore is accused of slamming Bobby Adams face-down onto concrete, kicking him in the face, and threatening to choke him during an investigation into a stolen car. Prosecutors say that O’Leary, who was responsible for documenting the incident, “minimized the severity of Dundore’s actions, materially distorted the nature of the incident to justify unlawful police conduct and misled investigators into concluding that the actions of Dundore were within BPD policy.”
Anything else I should know?
If convicted, Dundore faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and O’Leary could spend up to six months in jail.
