What’s happening?

Early morning on March 21, a female pedestrian was struck by two pickup trucks on the Interstate 395 south highway in Downtown Baltimore, reports Christine Condon for The Baltimore Sun. The woman was pronounced dead on the scene.

What caused the incident?

Before being struck, the woman was walking on the highway causing a disturbance that led to an outpour of calls to the Maryland Transportation Authority, or MDTA. Then there were reports concerning the same pedestrian being involved in a crash. Upon investigating, the spokesperson for MDTA, Sgt. Brady McCormick, said, “two truck drivers were attempting to avoid the pedestrian when they collided, striking her.”

Anything else I should know?

At 9:45 a.m., after the investigation was concluded, all the lanes on I-395 South were reopened.
