What’s happening?
In a reversal from last week’s decision to keep schools open, Baltimore City Public School officials announced Sunday evening that 57 schools would transfer to virtual learning from Monday until January 19.
What was the reaction to the announcement?
The short notice left both parents and teachers frustrated, many of them turning to Twitter to vent their anger, according to The Baltimore Brew. Many of them pointed to a letter from the Baltimore Teachers Union urging officials to close schools earlier which they say would have prevented the chaos of parents trying to find childcare and teachers pulling together online classes.
Anything else I should know?
The union is currently working to get high filtration masks to staff and students, as health experts warn against cloths masks.
