After publicly declaring her innocence on four felony charges, Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby’s lawyer A. Scott Bolden said he would like the trial to conclude before her primary election in June, according to CBS Baltimore.

Adam Ruther, an unaffiliated defense attorney interviewed by CBS Baltimore, told investigative reporter Mike Hellgren that Bolden’s 70-day timeline is possible but not typical. He also said delayed court proceedings because of COVID-19 could play a role in the timeliness of her trial.

The trial in question is related to Mosby’s charges of perjury and making false statements when applying to purchase vacation homes in Florida. According to prosecutors, she falsely claimed that her income was impacted by the pandemic.
